As executives who attended the SBDC training, we found the program to be extremely well organized, professional, and practical. The workshops provided a strong foundation and helped us think more strategically about growing our business.
In addition, the follow-up support and guidance we received through SBDC, especially from venture capital expert Matt Lessard, was truly invaluable. Matt worked closely with us as an advisor during a critical phase when we were preparing to attract venture investors to fund our growth. He was incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, particularly in how to communicate effectively with venture investors, how to structure and present materials, how to talk through a pitch, and how to support the story with a solid financial model.
While we have not secured investment yet, we feel we are on the right path. Thanks in large part to the SBDC training and Matt’s guidance, we are significantly better prepared, more confident in our messaging, and clear on our strategy. We truly believe our efforts will be successful as we continue moving forward.
This kind of hands-on, expert-level support means more than anything for small business leaders. It gave us confidence, clarity, and a much stronger position as we move forward with fundraising and scaling our company. We are genuinely proud that the Rochester community offers this level of support through the SBDC, and we are grateful to have benefited from it.
